4-ply worsted weight cotton crochet thread - G hook

Do not turn the work when coming to the end of a row.

Rnd 1: Ch 3. Join. Slst to center of ring, ch 2 (first hdc) 7 hdc in ring, join to top of ch 2. (8 hdc)

Rnd 2: Ch 2. Hdc in same st as beg ch 2, 2 hdc in remaining sts. Join with sl st in top of beg. ch 2. (16 hdc)

Rnd 3: Repeat instructions for Rnd 2. (32 hdc)

Rnd 4: Ch 1. Sc in back loops only, skipping every 4th stitch. Join with slst in first sc (24 stitches)

Rnd 5: Ch 1. Sc around. Join. (24 stitches)

Rnd 6: Chain 2. Hdc around. Join. (24 stitches)

Rnds 7, 9, and 11 - Repeat Rnd 5.

Rnds 8 and 10 - Repeat Rnd 6.

Rnd 12: Ch 1 *slst, slst, Shell (sc hdc sc)* Repeat around. Join to ch 1. (8 shells)

For a taller cozy, after Rnd 11, add an additional Rnd 5 and an additional Rnd 6 before adding Rnd 12.











    Easy Snowflake Tree Ornament

    4-ply worsted weight cotton crochet thread - E hook

    Chain 3, loosely, and join with a slip stitch to form a circle.
    Work 5 sc in the circle. Join with a slip stitch
    *sc dc trc chain trc dc sc* in top loop of each of the 5 sc sts
    After completing the fifth point, slst to the 1st sc in the 1st point. Tie off.
    Hang with a length of yarn.

Crocheted Mini Basket

Size - approx. 2-1/2 inches wide
4-ply worsted weight cotton crochet thread - E hook

Base of basket:
Ch 4. Join with slst to 1st chain made to form ring.
Row 1 - Ch 3. Make 7 dc in ring. Join with slst to the top of first ch 3. (There are 8 spaces in row 1)
Row 2 - Sl st to 1st space. Ch 5, dc in same space *Dc, ch 2, dc* in each of 7 remaining spaces.
Join with sl st to 3rd ch of first ch 5.

Side of basket:
Row 3 - Sl st to 1st ch 2 sp. Ch 4. Dc in same sp. *Dc, ch 1, dc.* in each of 7 remaining ch 2 sp.
Join with sl st to 3rd ch of first ch 4.
Row 4 - Sl st to 1st ch 1 sp. Ch 3, dc, ch 2, dc 2 in same sp. Ch 2. *Skip a ch 1 sp, dc 2, ch 2, dc 2, ch 2*
in the next ch 1 space 3 times. Join with sl st to top of 1st ch 3. There are a total of 4 "shells" in Row 4).
Row 5 - Sl st to 1st space. Ch 3, dc, ch 2, dc 2 in same space. Ch 2. *Dc 2, ch 2, dc 2, ch 2*
in the top ch 2 of the next 3 "shells". Join with sl st to top of 1st ch 3.

Handle:
Cut 6 18" lengths of thread. Place together, and tie an overhand knot 2 inches from the end. Braid.
Tie an overhand knot so that the handle is 6-1/2 inches from knot to knot. Trim ends to 1-1/2 inches.

Finishing:
Stiffen the basket and handle according to the directions on the bottle of stiffener.
When dry, tie the handle to the sides of the basket with additional crochet thread.

Abbreviations: sc-single crochet, slst-slip stitch, sk-skip, hdc-half double crochet
Make two - front and back
Note - crochet in back loop of stitches (top loop) throughout
Chain 9
Row 1 - slst in 2nd ch from hook - sc in next 5 st - slst in last st ( 7 st) add 3 ch and turn
Row 2 - slst in 2nd ch from hook - sc in next 7 st - slst in last st ( 9 st) add 3 ch and turn
Row 3 - slst in 2nd ch from hook - sc in next 9 st - slst in last st (11 st) add 2 ch and turn
Row 4 - slst in 2nd ch from hook - sc in next 10 st - slst in last st (12 st) ch 1, turn
Rows 5, 6, and 7 - sc across the row (12 st) ch 1, turn
Row 8 - sk 1st st - sc to end of row (11 st) ch 1, turn
Row 9 - sk 1st st - sc to end of row (10 st) ch 1, turn
Row 10 - sk 1st st - sc in next 7 st, sk next, sc in last st ( 8 st) ch 1, turn
Row 11 - sc across the row ch 1, turn
Row 12 - sk 1st st - sc in next 5 st - sk next - sc in last stitch ( 6 st) ch 1, turn
Last Row - sk 1st st - sc in 2nd st - sk 3rd st - sc in 4th - sk 5th st - sc in last ( 3 st in row) Tie off
With right sides together, starting at the top, whip stitch the edges together, matching rows,
and leaving a small opening for turning.
Turn inside out, stuff with fiberfill, and finish sewing together. Leave a 2-inch hanging loop at the top.
